Meslek Yüksekokulu Öğrencilerinin Türk Dili Dersi Hakkındaki Görüşlerinin İncelenmesi: Bir Aksiyon Araştırması

Özet

For the reason that Turkish and grammar courses in primary and secondary schools are not attached adequate importance, Turkish Language I and Turkish Language II courses are given at vocational schools of universities for two semesters. This study investigates the extent to which the objectives of Turkish language courses are accomplished in these courses at universities with reference to the perceptions of freshman students at vocational schools in terms of Turkish language courses and, in a broader sense, of Turkish language as well. The data were collected through semi-structured focus-group interviews conducted with 8 freshman students at different departments at Ardeşen Vocational Schools of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University and analysed by means of descriptive analysis. The results revealed that students are not aware of the aims and objectives of Turkish language courses, that they have not discussed this issue with their peers, or that they have, in fact, never thought on it before.
