TOPLUMSAL ÇÖZÜLÜŞÜN KISKACINDA KADIN OLMAK: AFRODİT BUHURDANINDA BİR KADIN

Özet

The development movements initiated together with the declaration of the Republic accelerate the industrialization/ fabrication efforts of both the state and private enterprises. This period, during which the moves for economic development compete with each other, leads the business relations especially between the capitalists, the seniors, the establishment sustainers, the wealthy and the poor working under order, to be shaped within the framework of material and moral exploitation. In the traditional structure of the new social order, where women are not seen or ignored, the need of the people for work, and the patrons for low-wage workers require benefiting from the labor of the needy women and children. This change in social life echoes in literary works, are undertaking witness of the period. Novel of Afrodit Buhurdanında Bir Kadın, published by Reşat Enis in 1937, is about the women struggling for life in a network of capitalist relations. In the work, female workers, whose labor is bought in the working life that is under male domination, find themselves in the sense of being hired also as sexual objects at the same time. Women who submit to their employers' wishes in order to survive, are dragged out of their original identity and forced to degeneration/alienation within the social order. In this study, an efforts to hold in new moral acceptances shaping by economic order, the struggle of the women characters in the Afrodit Buhurdanında Bir Kadın whether or not to become the actresses of the roles that the society determines for them, as well as their adventures of subjectivation/ objectivization will be examined in the context of feminist theory.
