TÜRKÇE ÖĞRETMEN ADAYLARININ TELEVİZYONDA KULLANILAN DİL İLE İLGİLİ GÖRÜŞLERİ

Özet

The purpose of this study is to identify and analyze pre-service Turkish teachers’ views on the language used in television. The study adopted a qualitative approach and used a case study design. The sample consisted of 8 pre-service teachers attending the third grade of the Turkish Language Teaching Program at the Fatih Faculty of Education, Trabzon University in the spring term of the 2017-2018 academic year. The sample was selected using convenience sampling on the basis of voluntary participation. The data were collected using a semi-structured interview form developed by the researchers. The form involves a section to identify personal data and another 6-item section to identify pre-service teachers’ views on the language used in television. The data were analyzed by the researchers using content analysis. The data were then categorized as the language used in TV series/movies, commercials, news programs, and sports shows; pre-service teachers’ views on the effect of the media on Turkish were identified. Additionally, results were obtained on how secondary school students are affected by the language used in the media.
