HOFSTEDE’NİN KÜLTÜR BOYUTLARI ÖLÇEĞİNİN TÜRKÇEYE UYARLANMASI; GEÇERLİK VE GÜVENİRLİK ÇALIŞMASI

Özet

The aim of this study is to adapt the Individual Cultural Values Scale developed by Yoo, Donthu and Lenartowicz (2011) to Turkish. The original scale has five dimensional cultural values which developed by Hofstede in order to determine cultural beliefs at the social level. Within the scope of this study translation and back-translation technique was used. It has been seen that there is high level positive and significant relationship at linguistic equivalence. The scale was administered to 245 teachers in Mamak, Gölbaşı and Çankaya districts in Ankara Province. According to the values obtained from exploratory factor analysis, it was determined that the scale items have high level distinguishing characteristics and the scale protected its original 26-item structure. It was concluded from the study that five factors explained 57,53 % of the total variance. KMO value of the scale was.816. The scale presents five factors reflecting power distance, uncertainity avoidance, collectivism, long term orientation and masculinity.
