Özet

Mythologies served as means of explaining the nature and finding the meaning of existence. They lost these functions over time but have continued to be used in cultural works. Turkish literature, like all other literatures, fed upon mythologies. Tengrism, Buddhism, Manichaeism in pre-Islamic era, Arabic and Persian epics and mythologies in Islamic era and western mythologies after the modernization are among the sources of Turkish literature. Those mythologies used as inspiration sources, indicates the civilizations effected Turkish society. Professor Selçuk Kırlı is a psychiatrist, his second literary work, Mitos, Kara Taşlar ve Ay Işığı (Mythos, Black Stones and Moonlight) is a story-in-verse that deals with mythological themes. In this study, the plot of the book is presented, the mythological elements and the relations between them are detected and finally, the place of the book in Turkish Literature is tried to be determined.
