Abstract


THE FIRST WELCOMING OF MIGRANT CHILDREN IN SCHOOLS: THE EXAMPLE OF ENGLAND
The first step in the education of migrant children is their welcoming in schools. It is expected that school and staff will make various preparations for the first welcoming of the migrant child in school. In this process, the head teacher and class teacher have various responsibilities and duties. When the child comes to school with his family for the first time, a meeting is held. In the first meeting, information about the newly arrived child is gathered and information about the school are provided to the parents. The interview should be conducted with the parents before the child starts at the school. While preparing for the initial interview at school, some points need to be taken into account. After the first interview ends, an information source for planning the future of the migrant child is owned. A good planning contributes both the newly arrived child and personnel. In this study, it is aimed to explain how a child who migrated to England welcomed and parents on their first visit to a school.
