Özet

In this study, it is aimed to compare the creative writing skills of gifted and talented students who are attending at Science and Art Center (SAC) according to the variables of gender and ability areas. This research is designed as a causal-comparative study. The study group consisted of 85 students who were gifted and talented in the fields of painting, music, and general ability. The data were collected by using the Creative Writing Scale (CWS) Rubric. Writings of gifted and talented students were evaluated by an expert in the field of writing by using CWS Rubric. The data were analyzed by using independent t-test and Kruskal Wallis-H test. The result of the research indicated that male gifted and talented students had significantly higher creative writing skills than female students. In addition, students with painting skills had higher creative writing skills than students with general ability. These findings suggest that gifted students’ gender and their ability areas have an impact on their creative writing skills.
