NAZLI ERAY’IN AYIŞIĞI SOFRASI ROMANINDA DERİNLEŞEN MEKÂN

Özet

The artist needs a realm to create his work. In other words, he constructs a space that he will give birth to. The human mind cannot think its existence independent of space. But man's divine qualities force him to be independent. The artist seeks new spaces where he can escape the pain of existence and enjoy the joy of being. The importance given to space in novel has increased gradually after the XVII. century. In Nazlı Eray’s novels, the place is a remarkable element of the novel. Eray especially fictionalizes the space by bringing the cities to the fore. In the Moonlight Table, a more in-depth space is encountered in addition to Ankara's creation of space as a city. This article focuses on the contribution of space units such as doors, chests and drawers to the novel, which constitute the environmental space elements in the Moonlight Table, but have been neglected in studies on space. Expression possibilities that allow the space to increase in the novel are also tried to be revealed. Bachelard's approaches, which mainly uses phenomenology as well as psychology to make sense of the space, have been mainly applied to the text. In the context of both intertextuality and creating the space, the presence of Ashabi Kehf in the narrative is evaluated as “interspatiality” in the novel.
