CHRISTINE NÖSTLINGER’İN HADİ AMA BABA VE GÜLTEN DAYIOĞLU’NUN YEŞİL KİRAZ ADLI ESERLERİNİN EĞİTİM, AİLE VE TOPLUM BAĞLAMINDA KARŞILAŞTIRMASI

Özet

Literary works in which feelings, thoughts, and dreams are expressed by language have no single dimension. Much as the chief goal of these books is built-up aesthetic pleasure in the reader, they, indeed, can serve more than one purpose. The reader reaches the period in which the work belongs, the society, and the mentality of the author when he reads a book. Christine Nöstlinge's book called “Hadi Ama Baba (Einen Vater hab ich auch)” that address child in adolescence period and Gülten Dayıoğlu's book called “Yeşil Kiraz” that address to the 14-15 age group are important in terms of reflecting the society and mentality they belong to in various aspects. We see the events in “Hadi Ama Baba” in a girl’s eye named Feli. Feli’s mother and father are separated but they continue to see each other in the company. Feli’s and her family’s thoughts on events were heartfeltly expressed. On the other hand, Kiraz who is the character of “Yeşil Kiraz” became estranged from the environment in which she lives; she also is a person who can lie if required. The socio-economic status, country and educational background of both characters are different. However, their gender and the mental characteristics of the transition period from childhood to youth are common; both characters experienced serious problems during the transition to youth arising from their immediate environment. This study scrutinized both books within the context of characters’ attitudes towards education and the problems they encounter, family relationships, and relations with the society they live in. Similarities and differences were endeavored to be determined by reviewing the books correlatively. A document analysis method that is one of the qualitative research methods was utilized in this paper.
