Özet

One of the narrative texts analysis methods is to separate the text into the sequences to reveal the arrangement form of the text in the surface structure and to detect the transformations related to the structural size of the text. The studied Şeftali Bahçeleri is in a storybook titled Memleket Hikâyeleri that bears the traces from Refik Halit Karay’s exile life in Anatolia. The story is important as it reflects the author’s viewpoint for the villages and towns of Anatolia, the people and social conditions of the period in which he lived. In the story, Editor-in-Chief Agâh Bey who comes to town to realize his ideals as someone visited Europe, in a short time, will adapt to the officers around him and will transform to a lazy and insensitive man who spends all his day in the binge drinking and entertainments. In this study, in the context of human-place relation, main transformation and sub transformations that form it appeared in ‘the parallelism between seasonal transformation and human transformation’ specific to this story have been emphasized
