Abstract
Cumhuriyet’in ilanıyla birlikte başlatılan kalkınma hareketleri gerek devletin gerekse özel teşebbüslerin sanayileşme / fabrikalaşma çalışmalarına hız kazandırır. Ekonomik gelişme hamlelerinin birbiriyle yarıştığı bu dönem bilhassa sermayedarlar, üst rütbeliler, düzen sürdürücüler, zenginlerle emir altında çalışan, yoksullar arasındaki iş ilişkilerinin maddi manevi sömürü düzeni çerçevesinde şekillenmesine neden olur. Geleneksel yapısı içinde kadının çalışma hayatında görülmediği / yok sayıldığı toplumun yeni düzeninde halkın işe, patronların düşük ücretle çalıştırabileceği işçiye olan ihtiyacı, kadın ve çocukların emeklerinden faydalanmayı zorunlu kılar. Sosyal hayatta yaşanan söz konusu değişim, dönemin tanıklığını üstlenen edebi eserlerde de yankısını bulur. 1937 yılında Reşat Enis tarafından yayımlanan Afrodit Buhurdanında Bir Kadın romanı, kapitalist ilişkiler ağı içerisinde yaşam mücadelesi veren çalışan kadınları konu edinir. Eserde, erkek tahakkümü altındaki çalışma hayatında emeği satın alınan kadın işçiler aynı zamanda cinsel obje olarak da kiralanmış olma algısı içinde kendilerini bulurlar. Hayatlarını sürdürebilmek adına işverenin her türlü isteğine boyun eğen kadınlar, asıl kimliklerinden sıyrılarak toplumsal düzen içinde yozlaşmaya / ötekileştirilmeye sürüklenirler. Bu çalışmada Afrodit Buhurdanında Bir Kadın romanındaki kadın kahramanların ekonomik düzenin şekillendirdiği yeni ahlaki kabuller içinde tutunma çabaları, toplumun belirlediği rollerin aktörü olup olmama mücadeleleri, özneleşme / nesneleşme serüvenleri feminist teori çerçevesinde incelenecektir.
