Abstract


CLASSFYING THE ACTIVITIES IN THE TURKISH LESSON STUDENT WORKBOOK FOR THE 6TH, 7TH AND 8TH GRADES STUDENTS ACCORDING TO THE RENOVATED TAXONOMY OF BLOOM
The purpose of this work is that the activities in the workbooks in Turkish lesson for the students being at the 6th, 7th and 8th grades classes is classifying according to the renovated taxonomy of Bloom and checking with the critical thinking skills. For this purpose, the activities in the workbooks of Turkish lesson for the students in the secondary school have been classified according to the renovated taxonomy of Bloom and the activities have been determined the location in the taxonomy and the connection with the critical thinking skills. This research is a content analysis which has been done from the qualitative research methods to the analysis of the document content. The data in the research has been obtained from the workbook being for the 6th,7th and 8th grade students in Turkish lesson which are used in the province of Trabzon and accepted as the student workbook in the secondary school by the Ministry of National Education and Training Discipline Board of directors since 2012- 2013 academic year. The activities having listening /watching, speaking, reading and writing skills in the workbooks published by Ögün, Meram and Evren Publications have been classified according to the renovated taxonomy of Bloom. At the end of the research, it has been detected that the activities being a connection with four basic skills are not proportional distribution in the taxonomy and the activities focus on recalling and understanding steps which are in the first two digits of taxonomy. It has been determined that the number of activities corresponding to evaluation, analyzing and creating steps which will be matched with the critical thinking skills are insufficient.
