Abstract
The Competency Cognitions of Pre-Service Turkish Language Teachers About the Turkish Provisions of Computer and Internet Terms
In today’s information era, computer and internet are getting more and more important. The rapid development of computers and internet brings out many problems with it. One of these problems is that terms of computer and internet start to be adapted into Turkish language. In thıs study, the competence cognitions of the pre-service Turkish Language Teachers about the Turkish provisions of the computer and internet terms are analyzed. Scanning method is used in the study. The sample of the study is formed of 240 pre-service teachers. The data was obtained with “Recognizing Turkish Correspondences of Computers and Internet Terms” scale developed by the researchers. Statistical methods such as frequency and percentage were used in the analysis of the obtained data. According to the results of the study, it was determined that the pre-service Turkish language teachers are not competent about the Turkish provisions of computer and internet terms.
