Abstract
An Example of Versification for Masnavi from History: Poet Molla Rahim’s Parable of Prophet Joseph in Verse
Versification, which is one of the formal transformations of the main-text, is the method of rewriting of a text, written in the form of prose, in the form of lines. In Turkish folk literature, especially Nasreddin Hodja’s anecdotes, rewritten in verse, various fairy tales, stories and legends, rewritten in the form of lines are among the appropriate examples for the versification method. The intertextual relations resulting from the rewriting of the parable of Joseph in History of Taberî by Poet Molla Rahim in form of the masnavi verse constitutes the subject of this article. In our study, among the formal transformation methods of the main-texts, the examples of versification and transformation of style will be discussed, by the two texts that constitute the basis on the study.
