Abstract
INVESTIGATING PSYCHOLOGICAL WELL-BEING OF UNIVERSITY STUDENTS IN TERMS OF SOME VARIABLES
The purpose of this study is to investigate the psychological well-being of university students in terms of some variables (conservative lifestyle, socio-economic level, perceived religiousness status of the family). Sample of the study was composed of 251 girls and 319 boys, totally 570 students, studying at 9 different faculties of Ataturk University. "Psychological Well-Being Scale” developed by Ryff and adapted to Turkish by Cenkseven, the "Conservative Lifestyle Questionnaire" and information form were used in the study. Statistical methods like internal consistency, t tests, factor analysis, correlation, Kruskal-Wallis test and ANOVA anlysis of the obtained data were used. It has been found that there is a positive and low correlation between conservative lifestyle and psychological well-being, a meaningful differentiation between the scores of socio-economic level, perceived religiousness status of the family with psychological well-being.
