Abstract
REVIEW OF 168TH, 169TH AND 173RD ISSUES OF THE PERIODICAL “ÇOCUKLARA REHBER” WHICH ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE LIBRARY CATALOGUES
Periodicals, particularly children’s periodicals, are one of the important types of publications for children to acquire reading habit. Children’s periodicals have emerged in Turkish children literature in 19th century. “Çocuklara Rehber” has been the second long-lasting periodical among other Ottoman Turkish children’s periodicals in the period before the Turkish Republic. There are 166 issues of the periodical, which was published in Thessaloniki, that have been identified in the different library catalogs up to now.
The aim of the present research is to review three volumes of “Çocuklara Rehber”, which were detected with the reopening of Hakkı Tarık Us library. These volumes were not discussed in previous studies and they were not included in the catalogues of other libraries. It may be said that, in 168th, 169th and 173rd volumes “Çocuklara Rehber” maintained its publication quality of previous years.
