Abstract
FOLK CULTURE IN KASIMALI BAYALINOV’S LONG STORY “ACAR”
Kasımalı Bayalinov who was exiled and sent to China during the Tsarist Russia narrates in his long story called Acarthe ‘Ürkün’ incident and the things occurred in the background as a result of a national rebellion of Kyrgyz people in 1916. This work which touches upon the real experiences from the lives of Kyrgyz people presents the Turkish cultural life during the Soviets as well.
In this paper, the elements of folk culture in Acar have been identified and some explanations and evaluations have been made by taking into consideration the effect of the regime.
