Abstract
GEORGIAN WRITER ILIA CHAVCHAVADZE INVESTIGATION ON THE LANGUAGES OF THE TURKISH TRANSLATION OF THE “JOURNEY WRITTEN”
One of the most prominent names in 19th century Georgian literature and political life, Ilia Çavçavadze constitutes a very important period in the social development of Georgia and draws attention with its complexity. It is a transitional period. He exhibits social problems of great importance for his period in his works and is a person who struggles with the weapon of his creative ideology in order to solve these problems.
The purpose of this study is; One of the most important works of the Georgian writer Iliya Çavcavadze, Yolcunun Yazıları (მგზავრის წერილები) is to detect the language plays of the novel, which was translated into Turkish by the Turkishologist Asmat Caparidze. It has been found that the translation of the end result is quite successful in terms of linguistic and semantic, but also brings some problems in the context of language games. These problems stem from the word level in the source text. When proposals were made for solving the problems of language games in consideration of topic relation and aim language characteristics, Turkish Language Institution's Proverbs and Idioms Dictionary, Eter Mamulia Turkish-Georgian Idioms Dictionary and Turkish-Georgian two volume dictionaries were used.
