Abstract
DEVELOPING WRITING ANXIETY SCALE FOR THOSE WHO LEARN TURKISH AS FOREIGN LANGUAGE
The aim of this study is to develop measuring instrument for defining the writing anxiety of the students who learn Turkish as a foreign language. At the first step to develop the scale, literature search was conducted. With the help of the data gathered from literature search, an item pool was established to determine the writing anxiety of the students who learn Turkish as a foreign language. A scale form was established by arranging the items in the pool and also expert opinions were taken for this form. According to expert views, the candidate items in the scale were disposed. The scale was applied to 280 students who learn Turkish at Istanbul Aydın University and Yunus Emre Turkish Cultural Center. Based on the results, exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis were carried out for structure and measurement validity of scale. As a result of the analysis, it was emerged that the scale has two dimensions and good compliance values which include 13 items. The Cronbach Alfa reliability of the scale .84. The two-factor structure explains 46,82 % of total variance.
