This study uses the survey method to evaluate “high school students’ views on multiculturalism within the context of global citizenship” based on a number of variables. A total of 618 randomly selected 12th grader high school students from 12 high schools from Ayvacık, Bayramiç, Biga, and Çan (all towns of Çanakkale province) studying in the 2012-2013 academic year have participated in the study. An “Active Citizenship Survey” has been developed for use in data collection with the participants, and the data thus collected has been evaluated in SPSS package version 18.0. Data has been analyzed using independent group t-test and one-way ANOVA.
Our research has found a significant difference between secondary school students' views on multiculturalism within the context of global citizenship and their sexes, the type of secondary school they attend, the socio-economic status of their parents, and the leisure time activities they engage in.
