Abstract
HERO TYPOLOGY IN NOVELS OF YUSUF ATILGAN
Yusuf Atılgan was born in the town of Hacırahmanlı in Manisa. He completed his secondary education in Manisa and Balıkesir, and his higher education in İstanbul. He is an important author in Turkish literature who is "very well known despite his little writing" and whose works are discussed. He has two novels named Aylak Adam and Anayurt Oteli. The author died in 1989 without completing his third novel, Canistan. He also has a storybook.
The novel heroes of the author, who frequently deal with the themes of isolation and alienation in his novels, are people who are disconnected from society, withdrawn and have psychological problems.
In his three novels, one of which has been published before the completion, heroes have experienced the same problems despite living in different social circles such as villages, towns and cities. All three of these heroes who are disconnected from their surroundings, who can not get rid of the problems of their childhood, and who can not find the way of getting rid of them, leaved their marks and became well-remembered characters in Turkish literature. In the study, three similar types of three different social circles will be evaluated psychologically and socially.
