Abstract
THE PAST, CURRENT AND FUTURE STATUS OF TURKISH EDUCATION IN KAZAKHSTAN
It is needed to examine Turkish education in Kazakhstan under the two main titles: Teaching Turkish as a first language and teaching Turkish as a foreign language. Along with the independence of Kazakhstan, speciality-based Turkish language is taught in Turkish Language and Literature departments founded in the faculties and institutions that belong to secondary and higher education of the country. Public Turkish language courses are provided both in private and legal sectors as well as the education centres of Turkey’s Ministry of National Education (MEB) and of similar institutions and organizations. By laying emphasis on teaching Turkish as a foreign language in Kazakhstan and its problems, some solutions and suggestions will be presented in this study.
