Abstract
THE METAPHORS OF SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS ABOUT TURKISH LANGUAGE LESSON AND TURKISH LANGUAGE TEACHER
The aim of the study is to investigate the metaphors of 8th grade students about the concepts of “Turkish language lesson” and “Turkish language teaching”. This study was designed with phenomenological model that is one of qualitative research methods, and study group of the study was consisted of 158 students who have been studying at 8th grade in the public schools. The data was collected with the form which was developed by the researchers and had two-fill in the blank questions like “Turkish language lesson is like …” and “Turkish Language teacher is like …”. Frequency, percentiles and content analysis, which is included in qualitative methods, were used in the data analysis process. The results of study have presented that 49 metaphors about Turkish language lesson and 48 metaphors about Turkish language teacher have been determined to bring out. The study result has shown both positive and negative opinions of 8th grade students about Turkish language lesson and Turkish language teacher.
