Abstract
EVALUATION OF THE NAME OF THE BUSINESS PLACES IN AĞRI CUMHURIYET STREET WITH THE LANGUAGE CULTURAL RELATIONSHIP
This study’s aim is, evaluating the names of work places in Ağrı Cumhuriyet Street in Ağrı Cumhuriyet Street in terms of language/culture. In the end of the study, it is seen that the names of the workplaces in Ağrı in Cumhuriyet Street came from the owner’s name, surname or a relative’s name. In this study it is also seen that there are names to make people active consumer, to make a place popular where the product is produced, to make location popular where the product is and names in relatives with religions political. With the datas which are from the study, when the names of the workplaces are examined, we can see that they first of all use Turkish, then Arabic and then French words. When the names of the workplaces are examined in this Street, we can see that, apart from properly used names, there are also names that are used randamly (deliberately/indeliberately misuse words not local words which are foreign.
