Abstract
ANALYSIS OF THE NOVEL ALI AND NINO BY GENETIC STRUCTURE METHOD
Ali and Nino, which is considered as a national novel in Azerbaijani Literature, was published in German by Tal Publisher in 1937 in Vienna under the pseudonym of Kurban Said and later on translated into many other languages. It is still a matter of discussion whether Kurban Said's name is Yusuf Vezir Cemenzeminli or Lev Nussimbaum whose real name is M. Essad Bey. Besides these discussions, the novel Ali and Nino is a very important work where aesthetic value and social events are taken into consideration. The novel illustrates a love story between two young people with different cultural and ethnic background, while focusing on religious, historical and political events happening in a large geographical scale between 1904 -1920.
The novel Ali and Nino, was analyzed in Lucien Goldmann's Genetıc Structure Methodology, which has an important place in the research of literature sociology in terms of the aesthetic value of the work as well as the ideology to be given in the work. The interaction among the story line, writer and society is well explained in a detailed manner.
