Abstract
DECORATING MOTIFS IN TRADITIONAL DRESSES AND HISTORICAL BUILDINGS: ESKİŞEHİR EXAMPLE
Today, architectural and fashion design continue to inspire each other. In this study, we tried to reveal the variety of ornaments and motifs in traditional clothing and historical building areas, field studies and screening studies have been tried to put forward. The study is limited to 9 historical buildings selected by the random system in Eskişehir and 8 ornamental pieces of traditional clothing.
It is emphasized that motifs and ornaments are symbolic language when traditional works and historical works are examined.. The transfer and protection of working cultural values from generation to generation is also important in terms of vaccinating cultural consciousness among designers.
At the end of the study, Eskişehir province reveals the way of life, traditions and customs, socio-economic level, beliefs and in which these motifs, which are found in similar patterns in ornaments and motifs in traditional clothing and historical structures, bear the traces of past life at the same time.
