Nowadays more than 80 versions of the epos are available, including a classic version by S. Orozbakov. Eclectic of the epos upon Orozbakov's recitation was accomplished between 1922 and 1926. This version was composed of 180378 lines. It was not until 2010 when this version was published as an entire text, but in fact in its separate parts. The Manas epos itself as an important linguistic phenomenon.
The article will focus on some number structures found in S. Orozbakov's version of the epos. It is a common knowledge that in the Old Turkic, numbers greater than 30 were formed with the word artuky. This number formation method can also be observed in the epos Manas. Apart from this, there are cases when numbers greater than 1000 were formed employing a different method. Thus, In Orozbakov’s version some of the Common Turkic number names such as “miñ” (thousand), “tümön” (hundred thousand) and the likes were used. Together with these number names some other expressions equivalent to the numbers of a “hundred thousand” and a million were employed.
