Theatre scripts are among the forms which base on conversation and whose dramatic structure stand out. In the process of forming the text the writers of theatre script starts from dramaturgic way of thinking. A dramaturgic reading is necessary for interpreting the texts correctly. The origin of dramaturgy goes back to Aristoteles’s Poetica. However, modern version of dramaturgy starts with Lessing. Modern dramaturgy, with Brecht, reveals an effective reader identity by focusing on transmission between text and scene. A dramaturgic reading has been done on theatre work named “…Ve Değirmen Dönerdi” by Haldun Taner in the present study. Taner fictionalized the semantic levels of the work on oppositions, irony and critical indicators. Understanding these indicators which create semantic structure of the text contributes correct reading of the text, and would create a presentation that does not conflict with the text.
