Abstract
THE HERITAGE OF THE TRADITION AT THE POETRY BOOK OF NURULLAH GENÇ gül ve ben
Tradition is a nation’s movable circle of the accumulation of the culture. The concept of tradition which exists at all civilizations; shows itself at art, architecture, theology, anthropological elements and especially literature. The literature of the nations in all over the world has been blended with tradition and has taken its final shape. The tradition which at all national literatures is the accumulation of the folk literature works and the approaches of the other written forms, has shown itself in Turkish literature in the same way. In Turkish Literature it can be defined as the common heritage of the divan literature and folk literature. At Turkish literature all the poets have been effected by the tradition. Some poets have rejected it, some supported. Effecting by the tradition, supporting it or rejecting it has never lost its track but has continued so far. One of the today’s poets whom we can see the effects of the tradition heavily is Nurullah Genç. Nurullah Genç has transferred both the fantastic elements of the folk literature and the Islam aesthetic which is the essence of divan literature into his poems. The best book which defines this synthesis is gül ve ben. By revealing the elements belonging to the tradition in these poems we believe that it will help us see the connection between today’s poetry and the tradition.
