Abstract
THE VERB IMIZĠAN- "TO DOZE" IN OLD TURKIC AND ITS REPRESENTATIVES IN TURKEY TURKISH
Turkish which is a language that comes to the forefront with the verbs that they have had since their earliest times and the use of these verbs. In Turkish, hundreds of verbs belonging to any concept domain can be used. However, some verbs are found in works written in the period of Turkish history, today, Turkey Turkish is not found in either Turkish or living space has become unrecognizable under the influence of many sound changes. The verb ımızġan- "to sleep, to doze" we will discuss in this article is one of them.
There is not much information about the verb ımızġan- "to sleep, to doze" in the sources, but there are also records to help solve the structure of the word. Particularly, the data stored in the Tarama Sözlüğü helps in the structural resolution of the verb.
In this article, the verb ımızġan- came from ımız "Reflection root describing drowsiness" + GA- "Inflected verb from noun" + -n- "Reflexivity" and some words like mızmız/mızıkçı are discussed in Turkey Turkish connection with the verb ımızġan-.
