Abstract
A DESCRIPTIVE STUDY ON BOOK REVIEWS IN TRT CHILDREN’S MAGAZINE
One of the educational materials that support the process of reading culture is children's magazines. Children's magazines offer a rich content to meet the interest and expectations of the child reader. Therefore, book reviews in children's magazines are extremely important. The aim of this study is to examine TRT Children journals published between 2010 and 2018 from various aspects. Document analysis method was used in the study. The data source of the study consists of 90 magazines of TRT Children. Descriptive analysis method was used in data analysis. According to the findings of the study, 320 book reviews were published and proposed in 90 magazines. It was determined that the number of Turkish works reviewed is 217 and the number of translation works is 103. The most recommended authors in Turkish works are Arif Nihat Asya and Fazil Hüsnü Dağlarca (f=15). Samed Behrengi, Lev Tolstoy and Jules Verne were the most recommended authors in the translation Works (f=4). Can, Çocuk, Tudem and Yapı Kredi Publications are the most recommended publishers in the journal. It is determined that information on translator and the label prices of the works are not included in the magazine.
