Abstract
The Values Attributed Teaching Profession by Turkish Teacher Candidates According to Emotional Semantic Difference in Ataturk University
The purpose of study is to examine the positive and negative attitudes of Turkish teacher candidates about the profession of teaching according to emotional values in Osgood Semantic Differentiation Scale. The scanning model that applied at quantitative studies is used in the research. The study group of research consists of 163 Turkish teacher candidates studying graduate departments. The research’s data were obtained with “Osgood Semantic Differentiation Scale” created by Osgood, Suci and Tannenbaum (1957; akt. Tavşancıl, 2006). Descriptive statistical methods were used for analyzing the data. As a result of the study it was understood that attidues of Turkish teacher candidates are negative related to the teaching profession and these attidues are on a high level.
