Abstract
DÎVÂN OF DÂRENDEVÎ HULÛSÎ EFENDİ IN LIGHT OF PHRASEOLOGICAL ANALYSIS METHOD
The word, which is the material of literary works, offers the opportunity to express the meaning in more than one way. In this way, making also the meaning reach the mind together with the word is intended. In poetry, which is a kind of literary work, word selection and syntax are presented to the reader being shaped by poets’ styles. In this context, divan poets also try to put the meaning in their imagination into words in an aesthetic language without leaving originality. This situation requires the consideration of subjectivity in formal discourse when examining examples of divan poetry. However, the examination of generally the meaning from a one-way perspective has caused the shape and structure of divan poetry to be ignored. When the verses and styles written by classical poets are examined in detail phraseologically, how they say/express is also highlighted. The reason is that the similarity between the syntactic and semantic features of phraseology and the literary arts of classical literature draw attention. It is also seen that some fictional iterations in divan poetry correspond to the morphemic iterations in phraseology. In this study, the verses in Dîvân of Dârendevî Hulûsî Efendi, one of the representatives of the twentieth century classical poetry, will be examined in terms of phraseology.
