Abstract
A STUDY TO DETERMINE THE EFFECT OF PROJECT-BASED LEARNING METHOD IN SOCIAL STUDIES COURSE
In this study, it was aimed to determine the effect of using project-based learning method in social studies on students ' academic success, attitude towards the course and democratic attitude in the classroom. Pre–test-final Test control group semi-experimental pattern was used in the study. There search was conducted in the spring term of the 2017-2018 academic year at the Sümer secondary school, one of the Central Secondary Schools in Malatya province. Descriptive statistics and mancova analysis were used in the data analysis of there search.
The findings from the study show that the project-based learning method positively affects students 'academic achievement and attitudes towards the course, but does not have any impact on students' democratic attitudes in the classroom.
