Abstract
A RESEARCH ON ÖZGÜR YALIM’S TANPINAR ADAPTATION PLAY “THE TIME REGULATION INSTITUTE”
One of the most important works of Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar, a Turkish intellectual with poet, novelist, academic and literary historian, is The Time Regulation Institute. In his novel published in 1961, Tanpınar criticizes modernism, modern people and modern society. Özgür Yalım, one of the artists who worked as director and actor in the State Theaters, adapted this novel to the theater in 2008 and directs it at the Istanbul State Theater in the same year. In this study, information on both novel and play text is given and compared. Yalım's adaptation methods are examined and Yalım's preferences are interpreted. In this study; Yalım's adaptation aims to determine the extent to the extent to which Tanpınar has remained loyal to his work.
