Abstract
EXAMINATION OF TRADITIONAL CHILDREN’S GAMES THAT CAN BE USED IN TEACHING SKILLS IN THE SOCIAL STUDIES EDUCATION CURRICULUM
The aim of this study is to determine which traditional games can be played in teaching skills in social studies curriculum. Qualitative model was used in the study since it was aimed to determine the traditional children's games that can be used in teaching the skills included in the social studies curriculum. Document analysis was used to collect the data of the study. Within this study, traditional children's games is living in Turkey in 2004, work was the source of the document analysis. The work was prepared by Oğuz and Ersoy (2007). Descriptive analysis method was used in the analysis of the data of the study. As a result of the research, a total of 56 games were identified to be used in teaching communication, cooperation, decision making, correct, beautiful and effective use of Turkish language, self-control and problem solving skills.
