Abstract
On the Status of Two Sounds in the Turkish Dialects in Macedonia: The Vowel “Ö” and the Consonant “H”
As in all dialects, comparing to the standard Turkish, Turkish dialects in the Republic of Macedonia have some less and some extra sounds.
There are some works treating the vowel “ö” and the consonant “h” in the Turkish dialects in Macedonia.
But, it’s obvious that in the examles such as köpek, göl, kör gibi, ihtiyar, ihtiyaç, etc., these sounds shows themselves in very healthy way. Of course, these two sounds are not used in all Turkish dialects in Macedonia.
This paper treats the status of these two sounds.
