Abstract
ATTITUDES AND COMMENTS OF UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS, WHO PARTICIPATED IN ERASMUS EXCHANGE PROGRAM, TOWARDS THE PERCEPTION OF WOMEN IN THE SOCIETY: A QUALITATIVE RESEARCH
The perception of women in the society differs depending on various social, cultural, religious, political and economical factors. The aim of this study is to ascertain perspectives of undergraduate students, who participated in Erasmus Exchange Program, towards the perception of women both in Turkey and Europe. Firstly, general assessment is made under the titles of ‘Women in Turkey’ and ‘Women in Europe’. So, the current state in Turkey and Europe is presented. One of the qualitative research methods and being extensively used in social sciences, ‘Case Study’ method is applied for this study. Ten undergraduate students participated in Erasmus Exchange Program from Recep Tayyip Erdogan University are interviewed within the study. Participants are comprised of six females and four males. During data collection period, a pre-interview is conducted with 1 female and 1 male student in order to design open-ended questions for the study. After interviews with students, voice records are resolved for content analysis.
