Abstract
AN INVESTIGATION ON CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS, COMPETENCIES AND ATTITUDE IN CHILDREN'S LITERATURE: A SAMPLE OF KÜÇÜK KARA BALIK
Nowadays, where change and development are experienced rapidly, it has become a necessity for the individual to take a critical attitude. In this context, it is important to develop skills which plays an important role in shaping the individual's perspective to the world. These are the skills such as questioning, evaluation and decision making with works that appeal to childhood. In this study, “Küçük Kara Balık” by Samed Behrengi has been examined in terms of her critical thinking skills, competencies and attitudes. In this research, one of the qualitative research methods, document (document) review method was used. Descriptive analysis approach was used to analyze the obtained data. According to the results obtained from the findings, especially self-regulation, interpretation and evaluation skills are frequently included. This shows that the work is open to both change and development. When analyzed in terms of critical thinking competencies; It was revealed that the competences of interacting with others, analyzing arguments, formulating questions and analyzing skills were frequently used in the work. When the work is analyzed in terms of critical thinking attitudes, it is seen that some tendencies come to the fore. These; tendencies such as assessing others' feelings, knowledge and intellectual maturity, and putting in practice their critical thinking skills. As a result of all these, “Küçük Kara Balık”; It is an example of children's books to be proposed for raising individuals who question, discover, and interpret.
