Abstract
NURMAHAMMAD ANDALIB'S EPIC “ZEYNAL ARAB” AND ITS IDEAS, CONTENT AND STYLE-STYLE FEATURES
Turkmen literature, which is a part of Turkish literature tradition, serves as an important touchstone in common Turkish culture and literature. Narratives, termed as folktales in the field of Turkey, are expressed by the term "dessan" in the field of Turkmenistan. Although the terms are different, the content in the narrative is similar. The Turkish nation has felt a deep respect and love for His Holiness Ali and reflected their deep feelings in oral and written cultural products. In the folktales of Nurmuhammet Andalip, one of the important classical poets of Turkmens, his respect and love for His Holiness Ali is visible. Nurmuhammet Andalıp's story entitled "Zeynel Arap," has the characteristics mentioned. Nurmuhammet Andalıp is an important name in the epic tradition of 18th Century (1710-1767) Turkmen literature. The poet has "dessan"s (folktales) named “Baba Rövşen”, “Zeynel Arap”, “Leyli Mecnun”, “Yusup Züleyha," and poems named “Risale-i Nesimi”, “Oguzname”, “Sagdı Vakgas”, “Kıssa-yı Fırgun." In this study, information will be provided about Andalıp’s life, literary identity and works. The role of His Holiness Ali’s role in the Turkish-Islamic culture in the work entitled “Zeynel Arap” will be mentioned. Besides after information is provided about the form and style characteristics of the story “Zeynep Arap,” after, the motifs of the saga are shown with examples.
