Abstract
VERB OF ÜR- (SELECT) IN OLD ANATOLIAN TURKISH AND ITS VIEWS IN TERMS OF VERB-COMPLEMENT RELATIONSHIP
One of the issues dealing with verbs in the historical development of language is the verb-complement relationship. In studies on Turkish, verbs in Turkish both in historical and contemporary periods are dealt with and taken in the verb-complement relationship. The subject of this study is to evaluate in terms of verb-complementary relationship verb of ür- and its derivate and combinations, as a continuation of the verb in Old Anatolian Turkish, in the form of üdür- in Dîvânu Lugâti’t-Türk. Those transitive from other derivatives and combinations of the verb in the same meaning area with the word "seç-" used in Old Anatolian Turkish can take one or more complement. The complements that these verbs take or can take can consist of cases of accusative, ablative, locative, dative (function of cause), instrumental, superiority.
