Abstract
ANALYSIS OF POLYPHONIC TURKISH MUSIC SONGS PERFORMED AT THE CHOIRS FESTIVAL OF TURKEY IN TERMS OF COMPOSERS, REGIONS, MAQAMS AND RHYTMIC STRUCTURES
The purpose of this research is to determine the arrangements and general features of the polyphonic Turkish music songs which were sung by the choirs attending the Choirs Festival of Turkey between the years 2010-2018. The data in the research were obtained by using document scanning method and by examining the concert program of the choirs. Which songs and how often choirs performed according to the years, their composers/ arrangers/ regions/ maqams and rhythmic structures were determined. Then, the findings obtained with the data collection tools were first grouped and converted into numerical data with the frequency table created, and analyzed by basic statistical methods such as frequency and percentage calculation.. According to this, 68 songs are determined that performed in Choirs Festival of Turkey between the years 2010-2018. When the composers/ arrangers of these works were examined, it was seen that they were predominantly 5th generation composers. When the region of Turkish Folk Music songs were examined, it was seen that they mainly belong to the Central Anatolia Region, and in terms of rhythmic structure, the measure number of 4/4 and hicaz maqam is mainly used. The results were included in the findings section, and the next section included results and recommendations.
