Abstract
ORATORY IN TURKS: ORKHUN INSCRIPTIONS, DİVANU LUGAT-İT TÜRK VE NUTUK
Oratory has been a literary genre that influenced societies from ancient times to this time and directed them to the desired direction. When we look at Turkish history, rhetoric since the first written texts of the culture; it has been preferred for purposes such as social structuring, solidarity, attention, warning and informing. Based on this, the aim of the study is to compare and evaluate the works named Orkhun Inscriptions, Divanu Lugat-it Türk and Nutuk in terms of their oratory features. In the research, descriptive method was followed and scanning technique was used. Features of rhetoric technique; It was created by benefiting from various sources and taking the opinions of all three field experts. In data collection; Orkhon Inscriptions, Divanu Lugat-it Türk and Nutuk were the sources. The six characteristics that oratory should have were scanned in the three works mentioned and the findings obtained were interpreted comparatively. It was concluded that the Orkhun Inscriptions and Nutuk were works of rhetoric, and that Divanu Lugat-it Türk also had rhetorical features.
