Abstract
CIRCLE IN ANATOLIAN AND ITS REFLECTIONS TO TURKISH ART
Since their existence human beings have made sense of symbols them. Throughout the ages, they have made creations by using symbols to express their feelings and thoughts in many fields, including architectural structures, religious items, traditional handicrafts and plastic arts. Every society has created symbols as part of their lives by attributing meanings to their own culture or on the basis of universal culture. In this study, it is aimed to examine the meaning and importance of the circle as a geometric shape in Anatolia and Turkish culture from cultural, sociological, psychological and philosophical perspectives. The subject of the research is the place of the circle in the Turkish culture and its reflections on its application areas in processes from the past to the present in Anatolia. The qualitative research method was used in this research. Literature was researched, and documents were collected, and theoretical analysis was made on areas relating to the usage of the circle as a symbol. With this research, tried to present the process from past to present by examining the circle as a symbol in Anatolia.
