Abstract
İSLAM TÜRKAY AND HIS PERSPECTIVE ON THE TURKIC WORLD
Azerbaijani Literature has an important place in the Turkic world of Literature. Starting from the early periods, different literary works created in Azerbaijani Turkish have become an essential part of both Turkic and world literature, while contributing to the development of Azerbaijani Turkish. The ones who played a big role in this process were the poets and writers, who created works in Azerbaijani Turkish while contributing to the formation of a deep-rooted Azerbaijani Literature. One of these poets is İslam Türkay, an eminent poet of the Azerbaijani lands, who is especially known for his poems with national sentiments.
In this article, we aim to analyze İslam Türkay's views on the ideology of Turkishness, Turkism, pan-Turanism, the Turkic world with reference to his poems revolving around the ideals of Turkism, pan-Turanism, Turkic world, social and cultural issues and common values as well as his article titled "Foreword to Turks' 101 poets", which was published in the Azerbaijan Newspaper.
