Abstract


EXAMINING ORAL EXPRESSIONS OF EDUCATION FACULTY STUDENTS IN TERMS OF CONSISTENCY
The aim of this research is to examine the oral expressions of the students studying at the faculty of education in terms of consistency. The study is a qualitative research. The study group consists of 20 people. Data were collected with a voice recorder. Descriptive analysis and content analysis were used in the analysis of the data. As a result of the analysis of the data in this study, the average consistency of the verbal expressions of the students in the form of narrative narration was 3.0; The consistency average of the oral explanations in the form of explanatory expression was 2.8. Consistency errors made by the students in the form of narrative narration from the most to the least were also revealed as "plan of the text, incomplete information, sudden transitions, subject integrity, harmony in the text, repetitive information, interruption of the narration, incomprehensible places and contradictory information" in his oral expressions in the form of explanatory speech, "the plan of the text, incomplete information, sudden transitions, the integrity of the subject, the repetitive information, the interruption of the narration, the incomprehensible places, the harmony and contradictory information in the text" were also revealed. As a result, the level of consistency in the verbal expressions of the students was moderate in the narrative structure and slightly below the moderate level in the explanatory structure. It was observed that the most common mistakes made by the students regarding consistency in their oral expressions were generally the same in narrative and explanatory structures.
