Abstract
AN ANALYSIS ON THE RELATION BETWEEN READING HABITS AND ATTITUDES FOR OCCUPATIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF CANDIDATE TURKISH TEACHERS AND FORMATION GROUP CANDIDATE TEACHERS
Reading is a skill that has an active role in the development of an individual. This skill which is important in educational process and in professional life and the role of candidate teachers who will play a role on acquisition of this skill should be accentuated. In light of this, the aim of the study is to examine the reading habits of candidate teachers and their attitudes for professional development with respect to various factors. The study was structured in research scanning model since the current situation tried to be described as it was. Data were collected with “Attitude Scale for Reading Habit” developed by Susar Kırmızı (2012) and “Attitude Scale for Occupational Development” developed by Çetin (2018). Kafkas University Dede Korkut Faculty of Education candidate teachers and pedagogical formation group students in 2021-2022 academic year were included in the study group. In conclusion, various significant differences were found with respect to gender and program differences.
