Abstract
EXAMINATION OF ATTITUDES OF PRESCHOOL TEACHER CANDIDATES TOWARDS READING HABIT IN TERMS OF ONLINE LEARNING
The purpose of this study is to examine attitudes of preschool teacher candidates regarding reading habit in terms of online learning. Relational model was used in the research. While the population of the study consisted of teacher candidates receiving education in the Faculty of Education on Inonu University, the sample group consisted of 134 preschool teacher candidates selected from the population by using criterion sampling method. The data were collected by using “General Information Form” and “Attitude Scale Towards Reading Habit” developed by Gömleksiz (2004). Kolmogorow-Smirnov, Independent Samples t Test, and One Way Analysis of Variance (One Way Anova) were used to analyze the data. In conclusion, it was determined that attitudes towards reading habit of teacher candidates did not change in terms of variables of internet access, having a computer, and intended use of the internet; while there was a significant difference in the benefit and effect subscales in terms of the variable of having a smart phone, there was no significant difference in the other subscales.
