Abstract
THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN HUMAN RIGHTS SENSITIVITY AND EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE: A RESEARCH ON TEACHER CANDIDATES
The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between teacher candidates' human rights sensitivities and their emotional intelligence. In addition, it was examined whether the human rights sensitivities and emotional intelligence levels of teacher candidates differ significantly according to various variables. The research was carried out in relational screening model. The sample of the study consists of 515 teacher candidates studying at the faculty of education of a state university. Human Rights Sensitivity Scale and Schutte Emotional Intelligence Scale were used as data collection tools in the research. As a result of the research, a positive and significant relationship was found between human rights sensitivity and emotional intelligence. In the study, it was concluded that teacher candidates' emotional intelligence and human rights sensitivity levels were high. In addition, it was concluded that women's emotional intelligence and human rights sensitivity levels were higher than men's.
