Abstract
THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS OF TURKISH TEACHERS
Good management of communication and emotional state, both in the social field and in professional life, is important for one's life satisfaction. Especially in teaching, which is a social profession, communication and emotional intelligence are very important. The relationship between teachers' emotional intelligence and communication skills can affect their approach to students and their professional success. Based on these issues, in this study, it was aimed to determine the relationship between the emotional intelligence of Turkish teachers and their communication skills. Based on the relational screening model, 284 volunteer Turkish teachers participated in this study. EQ-i, developed by Reuven Bar-On (1997) and adapted into Turkish by Acar (2001), as a measurement tool, and Interpersonal Communication Competence developed by Huang and Lin (2018) and adapted into Turkish by Çinpolat, Çıkrıkçı (2021). Inventory (KİYE) was used. According to the results of the analysis made with the SPSS 22.0 program, there is a significant relationship between the communication skills of Turkish teachers and their emotional intelligence levels.
